ManageEngine ADManager Plus Command Execution (CVE-2023-29084)

An Active Directory (AD) management and reporting solution that allows IT administrators and technicians to manage AD objects easily, and generate instant reports.


Vulnerability

ManageEngine ADManager Plus could allow a remote authenticated attacker to execute arbitrary commands on the system, caused by a flaw in the ChangePasswordAction function.


Identification

By sending a specially crafted request, an attacker could exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary commands on the system.

Detection

By turning this into a traffic file and matching rule, we are able to detect attempts to execute arbitrary commands on the system.
